Donald J. Yeager, 90, of Harlem Springs passed away Monday afternoon July 13, 2015 in the Carroll Golden Age Retreat. A son of the late Allen E. and Pearl Blazer Yeager, he was born May 11, 1925 in Harlem Springs. Donald was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge and received a Citation of burial of General Patton. He served on campaigns in the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. The last several years he travelled to his annual Army Company B Reunion. He was a member of Harsh Memorial United Methodist Church where he served on the church administrative board, sang in the choir, and was a past Sunday school teacher. His memberships also included the American Legion, Republican Central Committee member, and a Lee Township Trustee. Donald was self-employed with his brother Ralph running an oil and trucking company. Donald is survived by Ronald (Joni) of Carrollton, Dwayne (Kyra) of Newark, JoAnn (Ed) Clark of Malvern, and Tracy of Kentucky; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Judy) Yeager, John (Lenora) Yeager; sister, Mary (Harold) White; and sisters-in-law, Louise Yeager and Doris (Dick) Glantzer. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews with “three special nurse nieces,” who were always there for him during hospital stays. Along with his parents he was preceded in death in 2005 by his wife, the former Virginia R. Johnson, whom he married September 4, 1948; brothers, William (Nellie), Ralph, Dean; and sister, Maxine. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton. A graveside service will be held August 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Harlem Springs Cemetery with full military honors provided by the DAV, VFW, and American Legion.
