Gary A. "Rocky" Staten

In Loving Memory of Gary A. Staten "Rocky" A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and loyal friend. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary A. Staten, who passed away peacefully on July 29th at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 7, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio, Gary "Rocky" lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and devotion to those he loved. A lifelong resident of Carroll County. He was a dedicated truck driver with Cramblett Trucking for 41 years, taking pride in providing for his family and building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He enjoyed working as a trustee for Perry Township in his retirement years. Above all else, Rocky was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He had a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a sense of humor that will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply spending time with his family, he made those around him feel loved. He is survived by his wife, Debra. His children, Chassity Staten (John), Nick Staten (Lindsay), Dannielle Staten (Brandon) and Chad Staten (Brandie). His beloved grandchildren, Dylan (Amaya), Taylor, Caden, Luke, Evan, Abbie, Braylee, Brodee, Gracelynn and expecting a granddaughter in January. One great grandchild, Carter. His siblings Robert Staten, Betty Bobby, Gerald Staten, and William Staten. His uncle, Walter Staten. His best friend and trucking side kick Joe Orr. He taught the importance of honesty, perseverance, compassion, and faith through the life he lived every day. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Wilda Staten. George "Dick" Bobby, his brother in law. Mother and Father in law, Dosie and Wilbur Griffith. His best friend and furbaby, Bandit. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered love, support, prayers, and compassionate care during his final days. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd at Dodd's Funeral Home in Carrollton from 1pm-3pm and 5pm-7pm, followed by a funeral service on Monday, August 3rd at 11am. Interment will follow at Perrysville Cemetery. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing his journey is complete and that his love and legacy will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
